Central Coast Nutriceuticals
WARNING! Central Coast Nutraceuticals in Largo ARE SCAMMERS
HERE IS THE EXACT SCENARIO.
I was on the WebMD site and came across a website to get a free trial of Acai Berry. The company is called Central Coast Nutraceuticals. All you have to pay is $4.95 for shipping. If you try to exit out, a live chat screen comes on and offers the shipping for $1.95. Do not enter your credit Card information. This is a scam. It is not free.
I tried it, then I decided I didn’t want it anymore so, I canceled my acct. I found the product was no different than products you can get at any store except, the stores are far less expensive. I will then told that I had to return the product or I was going to be billed $39.95. So I was issued an RMA to return the unused portion. I was told that as long as returned the unused portion within the 14 day trial period, I would not be charged. I went to the post office to send back the product. I asked for a confirmation receipt like I was told by the rep. A few days later I checked to make sure it was received. It was, so I assumed I wasn’t going to be billed a $39.95 fee for the Acai Berry.
Well, 2 weeks after they received the product back, I was still billed $39.95. This also caused me to have NSF’s and my bank charged me $60.00 in fees. I called the company and was put on hold for a few minutes and when the Rep came on, I explained my situation. I asked why I was billed 2 weeks after the product return had been received by them. They answered that they don’t get to their returns right away. They said they would issue credit, but not for the fees even though it was their fault. I asked to talk to a supervisor, I was then told that would not do any good. I called back and talked to an actual Supervisor. He also said that they do not credit fees. They also were going to charge me a $6.00 re-stocking fee to return the so called “Free Trial”. Please do not order any free trials from this Company. They are not free!!! I am waiting to see when I am going to get my credit.
The company distribution was, and still may be on Belcher road in Largo.
Central Coast Nutraceuticals
12399 Belcher Road South Largo, Florida, 33773
When I was initially talking to them, I asked if this was just a fulfillment center or corporate. I was told this, the florida facility, was their eycorporate office! LIARS!

We did, after time, receive a refund and compensation for our insufficient funds charges caused by the blatantly poor business practices. However, THIS WAS VERY DIFFICULT and was only achieved by going through the state attorneys office! CCN initially and passionately refused to refund our money / compensate us for our losses due to their practices. We had to resort to legal means. That is not the type of company that should be allowed to stay in business.
Our time is also valuable. The lesson here, not so much.
Guarantee: When you purchase a new product that has a guarantee, you should be able to assume there are procedures in place to enforce/process the guarantee. I have yet to encounter feasible explanation of why SO MANY PEOPLE had their accounts charged while remaining well within the guidelines of the guarantees policies. What adds even more to the mix? When these companies actually insinuate the guarantee is an “added value”. I assume they practice this in their marketing to transmit a sense of security to consumers.
Principles: Come on guys.. When you purchase a new product through any distributor, you should not have to worry about going through the scenarios all of these people endured. Additionally, the business practices that were encountered here, can hurt ALL BUSINESSES.
You can always just google to find the original source of the information, the owners name, address and cell phone. It is all over the internet!
So, there actually is a lesson. Our Lesson: Due to this experience, we will never buy vitamins / supplements on-line or over the phone ever again.
A lesson for all: RESEARCH a company, distributor or product BEFORE you buy!
The company attorney even contacted us directly in attempt to play down the incident. Facts are facts. We returned the product immediately, exactly to their procedure and were still charged QUITE A LONG TIME (~2 weeks) AFTER THE RETURN WAS RECEIVED PROCESSED! WE HAVE PROOF OF DELIVERY! Play that down.
Notice, on 02/05/2010 the rest of this post was deleted. The information there was supplied by one of our members and seemingly could cause harm to our family via legal ramifications. We were contacted by a CCN lawyer and basically, told to remove it or … well insinuations were ablaze. Even though you cannot get blood from a stone, we just don’t need the hassle in our lives. Time with our family is the only “balance” in our account anyhow. We have however, due to the fact of how much this issue has impacted our lives, time and even sleep, considered approaching an Attorney about our legal rights and all that is transpiring here. Any Attorney that thinks he can help, fee contingent, please use my contact form.
